Kholat is a horror adventure game inspired by real-life events known as the Dyatlov Pass Incident - the mysterious deaths of nine Soviet tourists, leading to many diverse but unconfirmed hypotheses. The player will find himself in the scenery of the endless and inhospitable Ural Mountains in order to find the truth about what happened, but in the course of the plot, even more questions may arise.

The incident at the Dyatlov Pass is a real event that took place in the winter of 1959. Nine experienced tourists went on a ski trip to the northern part of the Ural Mountains, but it ended in disaster. The bodies of the team were found disfigured and scattered on the slope of Mount Kholat-Syakhyl.
